Are You Drinking Clean Water?

Drinking clean water is good for your body, it hydrates you, has zero calories and it aids in every bodily function, including energy production and fat burning.

Unfortunately not all water that comes out of our taps is free of flaws. Water authorities do not regulate many endocrine-disrupting chemicals, which conventional water treatments weren’t designed to remove. Studies show that trace amounts of pesticides, VOC’s and other contaminants have been found in both well water as well as municipal water. Testing should be done to determine if this is the case in your home.

The use of filtration can reduce if not eliminate these types of contaminants and the range from Reverse Osmosis to Activated Carbon filtration.

Reverse Osmosis units

Use a semipermeable membrane, which strips 92 – 98% of most impurities in water out of the water. This is not used for bacterial disinfection but works really well for nitrates, heavy metals etc. This is a point of use system that has its own drinking faucet and is primarily installed at the kitchen sink.

Activated Carbon

This is a whole house system that employs tanks of various sizes filled with activated carbon. This carbon absorbs impurities like VOC’s, Chlorine, fuel oils, MTBE, Etc. This carbon does need to be exchanged on a periodic cycle.
